Reviews about Hardwood Artisans

Stopped in to browse & love their products! All handmade furniture made from solid woods (beautiful cherry, maple, figured & burl maple and walnut pieces) with ornate detailing, dovetails & ebony peg joinery. This is not IKEA furniture so my experience is it is built to last. Lots of pieces have a craftsman & Japanese modern mash-up feel, very unique & beautiful. If you're a fan of Woodcraft, you'll love this store! A unique piece they make are floor to ceiling custom bookshelves with hidden murphy beds--great for DC area where extra space is difficult to transform. Forgot to take pics, sorry.

Clearly furniture of all types and qualities can be purchased from a variety of stores. We highly recommend a visit to Hardwood Artisans. As you look at their offerings you might think about how a product would look in your home: “if only it was a little taller” or “it’s a tad too wide” or “I need 4 drawers instead of 3” or “I prefer a lighter color.” At Hardwood Artisans you can customize! Just engage one of the knowledgeable and friendly staff and discuss how you could get ALL these changes. Our 1940s-era Fairlington townhouse is both floor-space and storage challenged. One of the pieces Hardwood Artisans designed provides a substantial amount of additional storage since all the room’s available height is used and it fully fills its space from side-to-side. We were able to specify: the specific drawer types, heights, and widths; the curio cabinet / bookshelf combination; and the variable lighting. The solid mahogany wood matches our pre-existing furniture and there is a neat little cutout that enabled us to keep our thermostat unit in its original place. Over 10 years later the hardware is tight, drawers move smoothly, and doors close with a satisfying click – we continually get compliments from visitors. Hardwood Artisans is a small business employer, uses renewable materials, and everything is 100% made in America!
